Mancherial: District Collector Bharathi Hollikeri on Friday directed officials to conduct special voter enrolment drive to enlist the youth who attained 18 years of age on January 1 this year in view of only 11 days remaining for inclusion in the list.

Speaking after at a meeting with leaders of various political parties at the District Collectorate, along with Joint Collector Y Nurender Rao and Bellampalli Sub-Collector Rahul Bajaj, the Collector suggested that booth-level polling agents for 698 polling centres under three Assembly constituency in the district be appointed. The Collector wanted the parties to submit names of the agents in writing to the Election Officers.

Bharathi said services of the agents should be utilised for deleting the names of the dead and non-local residents from the voters list and to include names of youth aged 18 years. She advised parties to lodge written objections over deletion of voters, if any.

Among those attended the meeting were Rajanva Mandal Officer Srinivas, Deputy Tahsildar Srinivas, Mandal Tahsildars, leaders of various parties and the officials.
