Addressing the first meeting of the manifesto committee, presided over by former Deputy Chief Minister C Damodara Raja Narasimha, Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “Congress means trust” and said that people should believe that promises made by the party could be implemented.

He made it clear that it was important to take the promises to the people and the committee should give its nod to the promises already made. He urged the manifesto committee to have an in depth analysis of the issues by taking all the sections into confidence.

The manifesto of the party should be scripted with utmost care to instil confidence among the people. AICC general secretary R C Khuntia said the manifesto should be acceptable to all the sections of the people. He said the manifesto should win the hearts of the people.

Meanwhile, addressing the Election Commission Coordination Committee, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the voters registration and examination of EVMs would play a key role in the elections. He said he would give suggestions on them during the teleconference with the party cadre.
