Bhongir: Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bagawath stated that human trafficking has become a big challenge to the world and Telangana police taking stringent action against the human traffickers to make the State safe. On Monday, he participated as guest to the human trafficking awareness programme organized by Taruni NGO to create awareness among the auto and lorry drivers, traffic police and transport officials.

The programe was also attended by the British Deputy High Commissioner. On the occasion the attendees were administered a pledge against human trafficking.

Speaking on this occasion, the CP said it is first of its kind to create awareness among auto and lorry drivers on human trafficking. Similar program was took up by American police in 2009 in the name of TAT and got good results, he added He expressed his concern over as many as 30,000 kids are trafficking per year across the country and were being used in prostitution, organs transplantation, circus and other anti-social activities. State police is seriously working on human trafficking and Rachakonda police succeeded in a grand note to arrest the human traffickers.

In general human trafficking crook teams kidnap the girls at bus stands , railway stations, crowded places, while playing before houses , on the way to school or residences and in most of these places auto and lorry drivers move here and there regularly .

He advised them to inform to either on phone number 100 or Rachakonda police commissionerate Whatsapp number 9490617111 if they come across any suspicious persons at any place.

He urged the auto and lorry drivers to consider all the girl children as their own children and save them if they found in any troubles. Further he urged them to play a key role in eradicating human trafficking in the state permanently.

On single phone call to 1098 helpline by locals with regard to harassment of a girl by a woman , Rachakonda police has rescued 34 girls from 20 brothels and arrested 31 persons in Yadagirigutta and seized the houses of all the arrested, he explained
