Gadwal: District Collector K Shashank flagged off an publicity vehicle to create awareness about the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VV PAT to the public in Gadwal district on Friday.

While speaking on the occasion, the Collector said, “before officials provide awareness to the public about the EVMs and VV Pads, the secotral officials and staff of the election should get proper training on these voting equipments first. The District Collector later launched a one-day training programme for the electoral officials and election staff at Balabhavan in the district.

The Collector later explained the use of EVMs and VVPATs to the election staff by giving a presentation through projector. “Today we organised a one-day training programme for the election staff and sectoral officials as to how to operate the EVMs and VV PATs. Once the sectoral official gets well trained they will be sent to the villages to provide awareness and training to the public about the operation of the voting equipment at booth level,” said Shashank.

The district authorities have formed 22 teams for this purpose, where in 11 teams each will tour one assembly constituency per day and cover the entire district in a week’s period.
