Sangareddy: The Zilla Parishad general body meeting of erstwhile Medak district ended abruptly. The meeting was held here on Friday under the leadership of Chairperson Rajamani Murali Yadav. Members from Congress party created a din at the meeting and raised questions on alleged diversion of Singur water to Nizamabad. They wereangry that over 16 tmcft water was supplied from Singur to Nizamabad.
The members questioned the motive behind the government action, even as people were suffering from water scarcity in constituencies like Zaheerabad, Narayankhed. The water supply in these constituencies had been stopped for 10 days, and the government was not attending to the issue at all. “If this is so now, then what will be the situation in summer?”they questioned. They demanded an answer from the chairperson,displayed placards at the meeting, and raised slogans. As the proceedings could not conducted amid chaos, the meeting was suddenly ended.
