Chanchalguda: While questioning the rationale behind outbursts of AICC president, Rahul Gandhi against MIM, the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) demanded that being party president he should have apologised the people of Old City for partnering with MIM for about 10 years.

In his reaction to AICC president’s speech at Charminar on Saturday, MBT spokesperson Amjedullah Khan demanded apologies alleging that the Congress was equally responsible for the excesses made by MIM leaders in the parts of Old City, as the latter had egged on their alliance for a decade to commit repression of people there. “Congress leadership should say sorry to Muslims of Old City, as due to their alliances with AIMIM for 10 years, the people of Old City suffered a lot,” he noted.

The MBT leader felt that the Rahul Gandhi who for the first time addressed from the historic Charminar was not properly briefed about the state of affairs, as people of Old City were expecting more from him. He felt that the leader had delivered ‘not so impressive speech’ and looked more exhausted after attending Bhainsa and Kamareddy public meetings and proper points were not given to him by the party’s State leadership. “Why Rahul Gandhi who was speaking from the historic Charminar was silent about the acquittal of those who were responsible for the Mecca Masjid bomb blasts by the court. Why he forgets to mention as to how the culprits of blast were set free by court due to criminal help of NIA?” he questioned.

Amjedullah also pointed out that Rahul Gandhi had failed to discuss as to how the TRS had fooled Muslims during its tenure in the newly formed State. “Rahul Gandhi failed to highlight how Muslims were being failed by fake promises of 12% reservation by KCR,” he added.
