The events on the second day at the Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival-2018 in Taramati Baradari Cultural Complex drew galore of audience. The events began with ‘Kalaripayattu: Workshop and Performance,’ conducted by Lakshman Gurukkal, along with Nikhil Varagiri and Akshay. A renowned Kalaripayattu practitioner from Calicut, Gurukkal and his group demonstrated the techniques of the ancient martial art form through an interactive session, which was followed by a performance.

Later, a play, ‘Parindon ki Mehfil,’ written by Fariduddin Attar and directed by Heeba Shah, was staged. The play is based on a 12th Century Persian poem ‘Mantaq-ut-Tayr’ by Attar. The story documents a perilous and exciting journey undertaken by a flock of birds. Their journey is an attempt to uncover the ultimate truth and to meet their true king, the ‘Simorgh’.
