Wyra: In a tough battle with the ruling TRS, People’s Front and BJP, independent candidate and Congress rebel Ramulu Naik surprised all by winning Wyra Assembly seat.

Ramulu Naik defeated TRS nominee and sitting MLA Banothu Madan Lal and People’s Front candidate Vijaya Bhai with a margin of 2,103 votes. Wyra is one of the three places in Telangana, where YSR Congress Party won in 2014 elections. Before 2009, Wyra constituency was considered as Sujatanagar Assembly segment where CPI and Congress candidates won four times each since 1978.

Naik said that people believed him as he is the local candidate and available for them round-the-clock, and played a key role in his victory. He assured the people that he would strive hard to solve all their issues.
