Vikarabad: The voters of the district created a history by winning newcomers in the poll fray. Among the winners one pilot and one doctor were also there. Patnam Narender Reddy, the younger brother of the caretaker minister Patnam Mahender Reddy, defeated the Telangana working president A Revanth Reddy at Kodangal, whereas Mahender Reddy was defeated by newcomer Rohit Reddy (Congress) at Tandur.

According to political pundits, the pink party’s votes were polled to BJP candidates at the constituencies such as Tandur. Out of the four constituencies Kodangal and Tandur drew the attention of the politicians at national level.

According to local leaders, Kodangal which was considered as a fortress to Revanth Reddy witnessed his over enthusiasm and challenges to his rivals led to his shock defeat. Though midnight drama was staged during his arrest, as expected by his followers, sympathy factor was not worked out in his favour. He tasted the dust with a surprise victory to the first timer Patnam Narender Reddy.

The new entrant to the constituency P Rohit Reddy popularly known as ‘Pilot’ Rohit Reddy got the Congress ticket in the last moment seat sharing among the partners of the People’s Front.
