Yalal: Social reformer Savitribai Phule’s 188th birth anniversary was celebrated at Pagidiyal on Thursday. MRPS district president Anand Kumar paid floral tribute to her portrait. Addressing a gathering, he said that Savitribai Phule was popularly known as the first female teacher in India. He also said that she recognised the importance of education and penned short stories and works. The MRPS leader appealed to everyone to follow the path laid by the social reformer.
