Vikarabad: Collector Sayed Omer Jaleel on Wednesday asked the officials concerned to expedite Mission Bhagiratha works to avert drinking water problem in the district. Addressing a review meet along with MLA-elect Methuka Anand at his office, he asked the officials to take up the repair works of the damaged roads in the town. He warned of replacing erring contractors with others if quality was not maintained in the works. Municipal chairman Satyanarayana, vice-chairaman Suresh, Commissioner Satyanarayana Reddy, DE Venkateshwar Rao, Assistant Collector M Khan, officials from various departments were present.
Sports meet held
Later, the Collector asked district youth and sports officer to submit a proposal to develop Black Ground in the town. He attended sports meet organised by district scheduled castes development department at Black Ground. Addressing the gathering, the Collector said that sports boost mental faculties. He advised students to improve their performance in all fields. As many as 250 students from 21 hostels took part in the meet. DSCDO Vijayalakshmi, DYWO Hanmantha Rao, DRO Mothilal, DTWO Latha and ASWO Umapathi were present.
