Quthbullapur: The Revenue department has suspended Suraram Village Revenue Assistant (VRA) B Ravi and issued show-cause notices to four other VRAs for their failure to prevent grabbing of government lands in Quthubullapur division.

In the show-cause notice A/36/2019, dated January 9, the department sought explanation within a week from VRAs N Satyanarayana, U Balayya, Kumaraswamy and G Nagender Raju Mandal Revenue Officer Gowtham Kumar told The Hans India that Ravi has been suspended vide orders A/1896/18, dated January 5, following allegation of encouraging illegal constructions in survey no 107 of Suraram, and not only failing to protect government lands, but also making forcible collections from local residents.

The MRO stated that the four VRAs had adopted negligent attitude in checking large-scale unauthorised building activities in survey number 329/1 and 49 of Gajularamaram. The Hans India had written many stories on land-grabbing and illegal constructions in the Quthbullapur Revenue division with the staff remaining indifferent. In the follow-up action at last the department seems to have taken action against the errant VRAs.
