Karimnagar: Women and Child Welfare Deportment had proved it's excellence in creating community awareness to save and honour girl child and bagged national award for 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'.
As the scheme completed four years, the Central Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Department has selected 25 districts, that were recognised for its good performance and BBBP in the category of effective community engagement.
Karimnagar is one of the districts selected under this category and the Central government will felicitate District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed at a programme at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in Delhi on January 24, on the occasion of National Girl Child Day.
The theme of National Girl Child Day-2019 is empowering girls for a brighter tomorrow. The Day is being celebrated with an objective to generate awareness on the issue of declining child sex ratio and create a positive environment about the values of girl child.
The Ministry of W&CD congratulated Karimnagar district as it has been selected one of the districts to be felicitated and recognised for its good performance on BBBP in the category of effective community engagement.
