Suchitra: A twin cell bridge is under construction at Jeans factory on Qutubullapur to Suchitra main road in Jeedimetla. The construction of the bridge began on March 2018, and now it is on the verge of completion.The foundation stone for the bridge was laid by MLA KP Vivekananda and Corporator K M Pratap Goud in March 2018.The height of the twin cell bridge is 4.18 metres and is 13.2 ft width and 59 ft in length.
One of the workmen near the site said that the bridge work has been completed, but the road has to be leveled.As the twin cell bridge is located on a busy road, it would link the road to Suchitra junction to Jeedimetla industrial area.
With many commercial establishments on either side of the road, traffic has increased considerably in the last few years. A temporary access driveway was made to ensure access throughout the construction. Also, small infrastructure improvements and road safety have been developed including a drainage line, cable and underground utilities.
By the construction of this bridge, it would help in betterment like smooth flow of traffic and pollution free. Earlier, it was very difficult for the commuters to pass because of foul smell of industrial effluents.A local trader Azeem said, “Traders face difficulties as there is a barricade at the entrance to avoid thoroughfare”.
Krishna Chaitanya, Executive engineer, GHMC, Qutubullapur Mandal, circle 25, said that the bridge is constructed to make the free flow of industrial waste and effluents and also to ease the traffic jam”.
B Lalsingh, assistance engineer GHMC, Qutubullapur Mandal, circle 25, said Rs 1.8 core was spent. The bridge connects various colonies like Godavari Homes, Durga Estates and Vellanagadda benefitting the residents of the connected colonies.The bridge will be open by the end of January.
