Vikarabad: District Collector Syed Omer Jaleel instructed election officials and the police to conduct coordination meetings to prevent untoward incidents. He held a review meeting with panchayat officials, police and other officials at collectorate here on Wednesday.The Collector said problems were reported during counting of votes in the first phase elections and directed the officials concerned to instruct election officials and police staff at mandal level.
He directed the District Revenue Officer to appoint counting observer to conduct elections peacefully. The Collector advised the officials to work in accordance with code of conduct.
Jaleel said that elaborate arrangements are being made for peaceful conduct of the elections.
SP Annapurna said they constituted vigilance teams to ensure safety of the people.Assistant Collector Muzammil Khan, DSP Shirisha, Tandur DSP Ramachandrudu, Parigi DSP Ravinder Reddy, DRO Motilal, DPO Narayan Rao, AO Srinivas and others were present.
