Nalgonda: Collector Gaurav Uppal was annoyed over the absence of election staff during the first and second phase of gram panchayat elections in the district. On Monday, he conducted an emergency meeting with Mandal Education Officers at the RDO office in Nalgonda.

Addressing the MEOs, he ordered the officials to submit a report with details of orders issued, absentees and staff presented for election duties during first and second phase of elections.

He instructed the MEOs to serve notices to election staff who were absent seeking explanation, and informed that names of erring staff who failed to provide proper explanation within three days over skipping election duties would be sent to the Election Commission for suspension from the services.

He informed that all set for third phase of gram panchayat elections in the district and in this connection, the training programmes to officials and election staff were completed and polling material was made available at respective mandals, where final leg of polling was going to be conducted on Wednesday.
