Farmers bringing red gram to market

Tandur: DSMS Manager Shareef on Friday said that they purchased 12,500 quintals of red gram from farmers through NAFED in the town so far. He said that as many as 13,015 farmers from Peddamul, Yalal, Basheerabad and Tandur mandals in the division sold their produce. He said that the amount would be directly deposited in their accounts.
They deposited Rs 1.31 crore for 2,300 quintals so far. The remaining amount would be deposited within 15 days through banks. A quintal fetched Rs 5,675. Shareef said that the last date for the purchase would be announced after getting due orders from the higher officials.
