Bahadurpura: Sunni Dawat-e-Islami has planned a two-day state-level Ijtema (religious gathering) on February 9 and 10 at Eidgah Mir Alam, near Zoo Park, in Bahadurpura. “The main aim of Sunni Dawat-e-Islami is to stop unlawful acts and make people aware of Islamic teachings, propagate true teachings of Prophet Mohammed, and encourage people to learn The Holy Quran (Islamic Book) and Sunnah,” said Maulana Hassaan Farooqui President, Sunni Dawat-e-Islami, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, at a press meet on Wednesday.

This Ijtema will have two sittings: the first one will be for women on February 9 and the second sitting is meant for gents on the following day. “This Ijtema is expected to be attended by more than 1 lakh men and women. This Ijtema will start with Dua'a (blessing words) of Hazrath Maulana Syed Shah Ismail Peer Quadri Sharfi Tahiri (Kurnool). Female and male Ulemas, scholars, orators, Muftis and professors from different parts of India will address the gathering,” he added.

Highlighting some of the topics which would be covered during the two-day gathering, Maulana said introduction of Islam and Prophet Mohammed among non-Muslims is the need of hour. With emphasis on his teachings of love and humanity, he said that the focus of conference will be towards building India a great nation and make people aware of the religion of peace, that is Islam.

The topics include Islamic interpretation of dressing and beauty, need for higher education, empowerment and employment for girls (a special session for parents), adverse effects of TV, internet and social networking sites on the society and the increasing trend of divorce in the society and many more topics would be covered, said Farooqui.
