Mahbubnagar: The pitch for the carving out the Jadcherla mandal into a revenue division under Mahbubnagar district has further intensified as the BC Sena along with other civil society organisations has formed the ‘Revenue Division Sadhana Samithi’ on Friday and gave a call to the leaders of all parties to become part of the Samithi to voice for upgrading Jadcherla into a new revenue division.

As the State government declared turning Kollapur and Korutla mandals into new revenue divisions, the people of Jadcherla have now come out hitting hard at the local political leaders from the ruling party for their failure in convincing the State government to turn Jadcherla into a new revenue division in the district. Speaking on the occasion, Burgupally Krishna Yadav, Revenue Division Sadhana Samithi Coordinator gave a call to all political parties including the ruling party, social organisations, civil society organisations, students’ organisations to take part in an all-party meeting on Saturday at TNGO Bhavan in Jadcherla and express their valuable suggestions and views on the issue of carving Jadcherla into a revenue division.

“In fact, we were the first to take up the agitation many years ago demanding upgrading of Jadcherla into a revenue division. Even when the TRS government decided to reorganise the districts, we fought with the government to accord revenue division status to Jadcherla. The present MLA and former Health Minister Ch Laxma Reddy had also assured us that he would speak to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and would ensure that Jadcherla would be turned into a revenue division. But to his utter failure, he could not keep his promise to the people of Jadcherla. In view of this, we have decided to go on an agitation until the demand is met,” said Krishna Yadav.

Bheem Raj, MRPS district leader said, “The agitation for revenue division was taken up long back even before the people of Kollapur had pitched for their demand. However, it is because of sheer lack of interests of the local leaders from Jadcherla we were left behind. At least now, the MLA must put forth the demand with the government and get the nod or else his good name and fame which had earned would be at stake.”
