KTR, Harish to play key roles in TS LS polls

Hyderabad: Eyeing to utilise the services of TRS working president K T Rama Rao and senior leader and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has not inducted the two leaders in his cabinet. The State Cabinet was expanded with ten new faces on Tuesday. Rama Rao arrived at Raj Bhavan and congratulated the new Ministers before they were sworn in by Governor ESL Narasimhan.

He was seen meeting all the TRS leaders and sharing a lighter moment. Soon after the arrival of Harish, the two leaders sat together on a sofa in the third row designated for VIPs.Leaders said that Rama Rao and Harish Rao sitting together in the Ministers swearing in ceremony sends a strong message that the two leaders are going to play a key role in the State politics in the coming days. The friendly approach between the two leaders also put an end to speculations that Harish has been side-lined in the party.

Sources said that the Chief Minister will entrust the two leaders the responsibility of winning 16 MP seats in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. Rama Rao will take part in public meetings and oversee the arrangements of the party. Harish will enforce the strategy prepared by K Chandrashekar Rao at ground level in the elections. “K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to play a role in national politics post general elections.

For this, the TRS supremo is busy preparing plans to win all MP seats except Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat,” a senior leader said. The leader added that Harish will execute the strategy in coordination with Rama Rao in every Lok Sabha segment. Harish played a key role in the victory of the TRS candidates in the byelections to Warangal and Medak Lok Sabha segments four years ago.
