Elaborate arrangements made for CM's visit hastamVizianagaram: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will visit the district on Tuesday to inaugurate the Amma Hastam programme that provides nine essential commodities for only Rs 185 to cardholders under the public distribution system. The programme will take place on the premises of Gajapathinagar market committee. Elaborate arrangements are being made at the venue for the programme. District Collector Veerabrahmaiah, Superintendent of Police Kartikeyan and Joint Collector Shoba are supervising the arrangements. Tight police bandobust is being arranged as directed by DIG Swati Lacra. The programme that was earlier scheduled to be held at Saluru in Parvathipuram Agency area was cancelled in the last moment and shifted to Gajapatinagar. This comes under the constituency of PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana's brother Botcha Appalanarsaiah. This is the third time that the Chief Minister would be visiting the district. The first time he came was during the Rachchabanda programme at Gushini mandal. The second time he was invited by Bobbili MLA Sujayakrishna Ranga Rao. That was also the time when Botcha Satyanarayana became the PCC chief. Thrice the CM's scheduled visit to the district was cancelled. Finally, he will be arriving to start the Amma Hastam programme. He will land at Gajapatinagar market yard at 3.10 pm from Tekkali in Srikakulam district by helicopter. He will spend two hours here. Besides Amma Hastam he will also inaugurate the 108 ambulance service in the Girijan areas. He will talk to the beneficiaries and distribute assets worth Rs 100 crore. Later, he will address at a public meeting and leave at 5.10 pm by helicopter. The Chief Minister had promised 16 various things during his previous visits to the district. Among them only six have been implemented so far. The rest are yet to see the light of day. Among them is the upgradation of the Bobbili 30-bed hospital to 100 beds. He announced sanction of funds for development of Panakavalasa-Vantaram road. But this proposal is hit by administrative red tape. He promised to construct Gadimulagadda Bridge at Chintavalasa of Ramabhadrapuram mandal which is yet to begin. Development of Mangalagadda in Therlam mandal too is still in the proposal stage. These promises were made when Mr Kiran Kumar visited Bobbili. Some of the assurances he made at Gushini were implemented as this region comes under the constituency of Botcha's brother Nellimerla MLA Baddukonda Appalanaidu. The funds were sanctioned quickly for this. Roads and school building too are under construction.
