Mancherial: The grade-2 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) staged a protest in front of the Collectorate here on Thursday, demanding pay hike.

They accused the government for not bothering about their financial issues although they have been working equally with the regular ANMs.

They demanded 35-day maternity leave, casual leaves, provident fund and Rs 10,00,000 accident insurance. They also sought payment of salary for the 45-day strike period. Later, they submitted a memorandum highlighting their demands to a senior officials at the Collectorate.

Telangana United Medical and Health Employees Mancherial president Padma and others participated in the protest.
