Peddapalli: Local MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy on Friday felicitated Dr Humayun, health official of Raghavapur mandal primary health centre, for admitting his wife Neha Kunen in a government hospital in Peddapalli for delivery.

She delivered a baby girl on Friday. The MLA visited the hospital to see the girl and felicitated Humayun. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the State government had taken several steps for providing better health services in all the government hospitals present across the State.

“Dr Humayun became an example for others by choosing institutional delivery for his wife. Not only this, his act has created faith among the people on the functioning of government hospitals and the facilities provided to them,” he added.

After the introduction of various schemes like KCR Kit, several people are visiting government hospitals and getting treatment. Manohar Reddy suggested other officials to take inspiration from Dr Humayun and must strive hard to increase the prestige of the government hospitals.

The MLA ordered the hospital doctors and staff to make necessary arrangements to provide medical facilities and medicines to the increasing number of patients. At present 50 per cent of deliveries were being conducted in government hospitals, which must be increased to 70 to 80 per cent in near future, the MLA stated.

Later, District Medical Officer Dr K Pramode handed over KCR Kit to Dr Humayun’s wife Neha Kunen in the presence of MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy.

Deputy Medical Officer Dr Krupa Bhai, Administrative Officer Abdulla Baba and Hospital Superintendent Shameem were present along with others.
