Everyone must be aware of the child rights and also about the laws that will protect the child rights, said District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy. He participated in the awareness programme on Child rights, organised by the District Welfare department at a private function hall here on Monday and administered pledge by the attendants for protecting the child rights.

People must inculcate high values among their wards since childhood, which will make them perfect future citizens. Both State and Central governments had enacted certain laws for protecting the child rights. One should have thorough knowledge about these laws for implementing them perfectly, he added.

Apart from this, the children also should be taught about their rights. Since teachers play a key role in shaping the future of the students, they must strive hard for the all-round personality development of the children. The teachers and parents along with others in the society must strive hard for protecting the child rights, he advised.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Sindhu Sharma, District Welfare Officer Padmavati, District Education Officer Venkateshwar Rao and Child Protection Officer Aravind were present along with the students from various educational institutions.
