Distributing health and hygiene kits to the students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya at Parvathagiri village on Wednesday, the Minister said that efforts were on to strengthen the educational institutions by providing facilities, infrastructure and adequate human resources. He said that besides providing education on par with corporate institutions, the government is also providing quality food for the students.
''Education is one among other key areas that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao never compromises. The CM wants all the infrastructure, facilities and human resources in place for the development of education system,'' Srihari said, referring to the establishment of 194 model schools, 475 KGBVs and 840 Gurukul schools in last couple of years. In all, eight lakh children are studying in 1,450 residential schools and colleges, he said.
Noticing the students' problem due to intense cold conditions, he directed the officials to set up a hot water plant in the KGBV within a week. This apart, he told the officials to set up a RO water plant in the school. Joint-Collector M Haritha, Wardhannapet MLA A Ramesh and KGBV Special Officer Sridevi were among others present.
