Speed up Mission Bhagiratha works: Collector
It’s time to speed up the works of Mission Bhagiratha, District Collector Dugyala Amay Kumar said on Tuesday. The Collector, who on a flash inspection to Ghanpuram mandal where pipeline works of Mission Bhagiratha are in progress, told the officials to ensure drinking water supply to all households in the region as early as possible.
Bhupalpally: It’s time to speed up the works of Mission Bhagiratha, District Collector Dugyala Amay Kumar said on Tuesday. The Collector, who on a flash inspection to Ghanpuram mandal where pipeline works of Mission Bhagiratha are in progress, told the officials to ensure drinking water supply to all households in the region as early as possible.
Responding to the Collector’s query, the officials said that all 44 habitations in Ghanapuram and Regonda mandals will get piped water by March 31. Later, the Collector inspected the works of overhead water storage reservoir (OHSR) and intra-village works of Mission Bhagiratha at Burrakayalagudem.
He also inspected the progress of piped water project works at Buddharam, Thimmapur, Laxmireddypalli, Gorlaveedu Tanda (Bhupalpally mandal), Neredupalli and Konampet villages. As the summer is fast approaching, the onus is on officials to ensure piped water supply to all the households in Bhupalpally and Regonda mandals, the Collector said.
He told the officials to inspect the works so that quality of work is maintained. He also directed the officials to take necessary measures for the comfort of labourers as they are vulnerable to sunstroke. RWS executive engineer Nirmala, Mission Bhagiratha DE Parameshwari, RWS DE Kumar and AE Sumalatha were among others present with the Collector.
