germanWarangal: A two-day fourth convention of 'Grameena Pedala Sangham' was concluded here on Saturday.A Socialist thinkers, left wing activists, poets, writers and a large number of villagers from different parts of the State have taken part in the meeting. A massive procession was taken out through the thoroughfares of the town during the evening hours. Noted educationist and former MLC Chukka Ramaiah, former MP, S Ramachandra Reddy, revolutionary poet Nikhileshwar, Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh leader and poet Gananath Patro, Dr. Jatin, left wing leaders RVK Satyanarayana, Ch S N Murthy, Padiga Erraiah, Ravi Shanker, BVN Patnaik, the sangham state secretary G Venkatadri and others took part in the rally and later addressed the convention. Speaking on the occasion, Ramaiah expressed serious concern over the rural migrations. He said that villages were getting vacated as the rural folks were leaving for towns and cities in search of livelihood and living a miserable life there. He suggested that steps to create employment sources and proper living conditions were the need of the hour. "At least now the poorer sections have realized their might and came out questioning the rulers", he added.
