Warangal: Students should develop themselves as all-rounders in order to fit into any job in this competitive world, averred cricket player VVS Laxman. He advised them to participate in co-curricular and extra co-curricular activities apart from academics. Asking the students to select the sports of their interest, he asked them to work hard to achieve national or international acclaim.
Former Team India cricket player Laxman was addressing a meeting at the Rural Development Foundation (RDF)’s school at Kalleda village in Parvathagiri mandal of Warangal district on Saturday. Students enjoyed his company during his visit. Emphasising the role of teachers in shaping the lives of the students, he said that they play a vital role in deciding what courses to choose and finally settle in a career that fits them. Congratulating RDF for running three schools with student intake of 1,200 students successfully in rural areas of the district, he said that they have shown inclination for uplifting have-nots. Laxman felt the RDF students are more enterprising than the students of other schools as he noticed that confidence levels are high in them.
Earlier, he received guard of honour from the students on the school campus. He interacted with the students in science labs and lauded their work at the school art exhibition. RDF CEO Errabelli Vanditha Rao, Principal T Sridhar, Vice Principal R Ashoka Chary, in-charges Srinivas, Mahender, teachers and students participated in the programme.
