Warangal: In a novel protest, TRS youth wing activists pulled pushcart on the streets of Hanamkonda here on Saturday opposing the fresh hike in petrol prices by the Central government. Addressing the media, TRS activists Boda Dinna, Chaganti Ramesh, Md Nayeemuddin and others lashed out at UPA government for hiking the petrol prices for about 10 times in the past 6 months, making the lives of common people miserable. ‘‘The petrol price is directly proportional to the hike in the prices of all the essential commodities. Transportation of all the goods completely depends on petroleum products and the hike would increase transport charges,’’ they felt.
If UPA does not reduce the prices, they would face the wrath of the people in upcoming elections, they remarked.
They demanded the government to reduce the petrol prices for providing relief to common man. TRS leaders Rajesh, Manoj and others participated in the protest rally.
