RIL KGD6 observes Fire Service Week

Kakinada: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Gadimoga, observed Fire Service Week from April 14 to 22 at the onshore and offshore facilities of KGD6.A Every year, April 14 is observed as Fire Service Day all over India. KGD6, Gadimoga, has been observing Fire Service Week at its on-shore terminal since its construction stage in 2008. This year, Fire Service Week started with a ceremony to pay homage to martyrs. MV Subbarao, Head � D1 D3, senior officials and employees offered floral tributes to the Fire Service martyrs at a brief function at the Fire Station of onshore terminal. During the week, various fire prevention awareness programmes were conducted for employees, contractors and also for the nearby community members of Gadimoga Panchayat. Special session for students of JNTU, Kakinada, was organised wherein Prof. KV Rao, Head of Petroleum and Petrochemical Department, and G Sreeramamurthy, Head � HSEF, RIL, addressed the students. KGD6 Fire Services also organised fire-fighting demonstration and training for the students. 'Fire Prevention' poster competition was held for eight schools near Gadimoga village and the response from school children was overwhelming. Winners of these competitions were given away prizes at the valedictory function held on Tuesday.
