Palakol (West Godavari): Protests rocked the district for the 43 day on Wednesday, against the decision to divide the State by carving out a separate Telangana state. Various organisations held a motorcycle rally as a part of ‘Intintiki Samaikyandhra’ programme here in Palakol. Laksha Galaarchana programme was organised in Tanuku. Panchayati Raj employees staged a dharna and raised Save Andhra Pradesh slogans. Teachers played hide and seek game on main roads. They reiterated that the movement be continued till the Government reconsiders its decision to divide the State.
Bandh total in Nuzivid
Nuzivid (Krishna): Normal life went out of gear in the town on Wednesday due to the bandh observed by all sections of people in support of Samaikyandhra. The roads wore a deserted look. People from all walks of life extended their support to the bandh. The deekshas held under the aegis of JAC entered 35 day. Various Brahmin organisations participated in the deekshas. Later, a vehicle rally was held. About 70 Tata Magic vehicles and bikes participated in the rally. They raised slogans against the bifurcation of the State and demanded the Government to keep the State united. Mock funeral procession of Sonia Gandhi and KCR was held in the programme.
Samajam sings bhajans
Prathipadu: The relay hunger strikes launched by Teachers JAC at Pedanandipadu mandal headquarters near here entered eight day on Wednesday. Members of Bhajana Samajam sang bhajans and cooked food on the road.
