key2"Knowledge Management is the key for the growth and the sustainability of the organisation," Dr VP Gulati, Sr. Vice President (BI), TCS Hyderabad said. He inaugurated 2nd International Conference on Business Intelligence, Analytics and Knowledge Management (BIAKM-2013) and delivered the key note address on the "Role of Business Intelligence & Knowledge Management in Services." ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, a constituent of IFHE, in partnership with Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), jointly organised the two-day conference concluded on Friday.

Dr Gulati in his address explained how various organisations have been implementing business intelligence and utilizing the tools of knowledge management for efficient functioning. A He predicted that organisations may use huge amount of data to an extent of Brontobyte (1027) which is double the size of Terabyte what is commonly used currently.

Dr Vincent, Associate Professor, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) Delivered a speech on "Social Media Analysis and Business Applications", he underlined the importance of business intelligence and knowledge management in the increasingly digital world. He also introduced the academic and research activities that are taking place in PolyU, especially the Department of Computing.

The event was presided by Prof. J Mahender Reddy, Vice Chancellor, IFHE University, who highlighted the research and publication activities at the University and stressed on the need for such conferences that help cross-pollinating research ideas and to augment the body of knowledge.

29 papers were presented and 60 delegates including the academicians from foreign Universities and professionals from industry took part in deliberations across two days. Prof. Narasimhaiah Gorla, Director, IBS Hyderabad, presented awards for best papers during the valedictory session.
