The recruitment of Assistant and Associate Professors for Osmania University went into cold storage, with Administration not announcing the results even after a very costly, rigorous and time consuming process of faculty recruitment, which concluded 3 months ago. Student leaders of Telangana Vidyarthi Sangam, on Monday, submitted a representation to Prof S Satyanarayana, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, to declare the results of the interviews immediately.

Kota Srinivas Goud, President of TVS, informed that currently, there are more than 200 posts for Assistant and Associate Professors, for which interviews were done, appending more than Rs 1 Crore as hiring expenditure by the University. The interviews were also recorded by cameras to assure fair interview process. However, he said that the Registrar, who belonged to a prominent community, has been trying to halt the declaration of results due to ambiguous reasons; by filing complaints about alleged unfair hiring procedure being followed during a few instances.

He said it is high time for the University to fill up 50 per cent of posts lying vacant in the University, so that poor and middle-class students get quality education. He added that the Executive Committee should meet immediately and take a decision on releasing the results, failing which, students would occupy the Administrative Building of the University.
