Hyderabad: ISL club Hyderabad FC (HFC) joined hands with the Hyderabad Football league (HFL) to promote football and inspire young boys and girls to look at opportunities available in football and explore this as a career option.

As part of the collaboration, HFL will be organising football tournaments for both men and women and HFC will share technical knowledge with the participants to emphasise their commitment to building relationships across the city.

The tournament will be held at FoodBall Park, Yousufguda and will allow individuals to be part of a team and play regularly. The player statistics will be recorded and analysed to know what areas participants have done well and where they need to improve. The Matches will begin from February 29 and the finals will be played on March 15.

The tournament will help scout young talent and will provide them opportunities to showcase their skills. The HFC players, owners and management will be involved in the entire process. The partnership will expand Hyderabad's long footballing tradition to women as well.

Women are coming forward in large numbers to to participate in the tournament.

Varun Tripuraneni, co-owner HFC, "We are excited to collaborate with HFL and support them for this novel initiative. Hyderabad has lots of talent and enthusiasm towards football and we were especially surprised with the response from the women.

HFL is giving them a good platform to explore the game and its dynamics. HFC is always willing to help and support in all possible ways to bring back the glory days to football in the city".

Murad Jasani, MD- HFL said, "It feels great to finally have an ISL club in the city and one that actually cares about the development of football in Hyderabad.

I'm extremely pleased that they have shown faith in us to get associated with the HFL and hopeful that over the coming years together we will be able to change the footballing landscape in our city."

He added: "We are also pleased to see women with so much passion for football. We want to improve their skills as well and that's why we are also giving them a few training sessions under expert guidance before their matches begin."
