Make Olympic Day Run a grand success
District Olympic Association Chairman, M Mallikarjuna Reddy called upon the people and athletes to make the Olympic Day Run a grand success.
Kurnool: District Olympic Association Chairman, M Mallikarjuna Reddy called upon the people and athletes to make the Olympic Day Run a grand success. He participated as a chief guest on the occasion of launching session of Hockey Softball Inter School Games organized at STBC College grounds on Wednesday. Later addressing the occasion, Mallikarjuna Reddy said the Olympic Day Run will be organised on June 25. He called upon the people, sports persons, athletes and others on par with age, caste, creed and religion to participate at the Olympic Day Run and make it a grand success.
District Olympic Association General Secretary, B Ramanjaneyulu said that the Olympic Day Run is a week-long celebration starting from June 18-24. Every day there would be three to four events conducted. On Wednesday, three events, hockey, softball and football were organised. Around 20 teams took part in the event, said Ramanjaneyulu.
All the games would come to an end on June 24 and on June 25 prizes would be distributed to the winners, runners and the participants. The same day, Olympic Day Run would be taken out in Kurnool town wherein, people, sports persons, police, schools, colleges and others in thousands would take part, added Ramanjaneyulu.
District Sports Head (DSH), Bhupathi Rao, district hockey associaltion secretary, Sudheer, Olympic association president, Venkateshwarulu, Khabbadi association secretary, Rajasekhar, sports association representatives, Jocob, Srinivasulu, Softball association secretary Gangadhar and others participated.
