The latest data from Apptopia reveals that Among Us was the most downloaded mobile game globally and in the US.
Innersloth's Among Us achieved crossed a new milestone as the most downloaded mobile game in 2020. Among Us has managed to beat popular games like PUBG Mobile, Roblox, and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Among Us had 264 million downloads worldwide, as per the data from Apptopia. With 41 million downloads, it was also the most downloaded mobile game in the US. Apptopia collects data from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The latest milestone comes soon after Among Us registered 500 million players in November of last year. This was the highest monthly player ever reached by any mobile game, according to SuperData.
In November, Among Us was also the most downloaded game globally, according to Sensor Tower. It also won the awards for best mobile and multiplayer game at The Game Awards 2020. The multiplayer mobile game was a pandemic success, and the developers even scrapped plans for Among Us 2 to focus on the first version.
After its recent release on Nintendo Switch, Among Us is also expanding to many other platforms. Among Us is coming to Xbox consoles this year and will be available through the Xbox Game Pass service.
Innersloth is now also working on a new map for Among Us that will be released earlier this year. The new map Among Us is called "The Airship" and will feature new tasks, stairs and elevators, and new animations. AirShip will also allow players to continue from different locations after emergency meetings. Innersloth has yet to announce a release date for the new Among Us map.
