iOS 13 will enable you to switch native Apple apps to a darkened colour scheme that will reduce eye strain.

Probably the only most anticipated change and Apple has made the biggest visual update to iOS from the time when it introduced the current software design in iOS 7, iOS 13 is finally offering a true, system-wide dark mode.

Apple's all first-party apps are supported, and even notifications and the dock get new dark hues to go with it.

From this announcement, we understand that both major mobile operating systems will be receiving a dark mode in 2019 later this year Google would be bringing one to Android Q. In the beta version of Q Android's dark mode is already available, and Google is working hard to update its first-party apps to take advantage of the new Dark mode colour scheme.

In recent years for the uninitiated, dark modes have become an amazingly popular feature. It's partially for functional reasons, and relatively just because they look cool. It is claimed that they will reduce eye strain and have a shaky scientific basis, they may bring much more tangible benefits to devices with OLED screens, which in turn with darker colour schemes will consume less battery life. For example, on Android Q, devices will automatically use dark mode once they're put into the battery-saving mode.
