Adilabad: Following the State government orders, district authorities are issuing job cards and providing work under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act to migrant labourers of Telangana State, who returned from other States due to Covid-19.

The government has issued job cards to the migrant labourers, who are unable to find work in their native places. District administration has intensified Employment Guarantee Act works in 17 mandals, 467 gram panchayats, 1,167 villages in Adilabad district.

About 3,41,456 labourers are getting employment and 9,038 cards were issued in this year including 5,000 migrant labourers, who returned from other State are getting employment under EGS works. Officials have been issuing job cards to all eligible persons who lost jobs.

Speaking to The Hans India, District Rural Development Officer Rajeshwar Rathod said they are providing employment to about 4,000 to 5,000 migrant labourers, who returned from other States.
