With an aim to promote the traditional archery among the Chenchus and other tribes of Nallamalla region, the authorities of Rural Development Trust (RDT) have conducted an archery competition for the Chenchu tribal girls of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Achampet region on Tuesday.

Nagarkurnool: With an aim to promote the traditional archery among the Chenchus and other tribes of Nallamalla region, the authorities of Rural Development Trust (RDT) have conducted an archery competition for the Chenchu tribal girls of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Achampet region on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the archery competition, Pushpa, RDT Regional Manager said, "The aim of organising the traditional archery competition among the Primitive Girijana Tribes (PGT) is to identify the inherent talent of these students right at the childhood and groom them and make them ready for national and international level sports events like Olympics and world games."

The Chenchu and other tribal students from various ITDA schools studying across all the attached districts of Nallamalla forest region like Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool in Telangana, Kurnool and Prakasham districts from Andhra Pradesh have come to Achampet mandal to take part in the traditional archery competition.

Mannanor ITDA Project Officer Venkataiah, RDT local area in-charge Saraswathi and others took part in the programme.
