Auto-driver gets 10-year jail term for raping Class 9 girl
A 37-year-old auto-driver was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for raping a Class 9 girl. The first additional metropolitan session court pronounced the judgement on Thursday.
A 37-year-old auto-driver was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for raping a Class 9 girl. The first additional metropolitan session court pronounced the judgement on Thursday.
Venkata Rajesh used to take the girl and her brother to school daily in his auto. He is said to have sexually assaulted the girl for six months and threatened to dire consequences if she disclosed the matter.
According to the girl, the auto driver used to halt the vehicle near a playground and ask the other students to play in the ground. He then used to take the victim to an isolated place and sexually violated her. However, the girl's parents approached the police on learning that the victim became pregnant.
The court found the accused guilty and awarded ten years of imprisonment.
