Hyderabad: The State BJP has demanded the Election Commission to reject the nominations filed by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for illegally holding two votes and suppressing the information.

Addressing media here on Tuesday, BJP State chief official spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao and party Hyderabad Parliament constituency candidate Dr Bhagawantha Rao Pawar said the party has filed a complaint with the Hyderabad District Collector and Returning Officer and the same will be submitted to the Election Commission of India, they said.

Bhagawantha Rao said Asaduddin and his wife Farheen Owaisi are holding one vote in Rajendranagar (51) Assembly segment under the Chevella Parliament constituency with ID card numbers KGY0601229 and WPK4358974, respectively in the polling station 401-Mailardevpally, St Fiyaz School.

Similarly, both the husband and wife are also holding votes with ID card numbers TDZ1557521 and KGY1938521, respectively, in the Khairatabad Assembly segment under the Secunderabad Parliament constituency, in the polling station 25-Urdu Hall Lane, Urdu Evening College, they said.

That apart, the AIMIM chief had also suppressed information about the allowances he received being a member of the State Wakqf Board, besides, undervaluing his property in his election affidavit, Bhagawanth Rao alleged.

The BJP candidate alleged Asaduddin has suppressed the information before the ERO, which amounts to violation of the laws of the land. Since he had suppressed the information which is against non-disclosure on both counts, Rao asked the ERO to reject his nomination.

In the event of accepting his nomination and allowing Asaduddin to take part in the election, "it amounts to improper acceptance of nomination as prescribed under section 100(1)(d)(i) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951," he pointed out.

That apart, he alleged that two candidates Asaduddin Owaisi and his younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi have filed nominations as official nominees of AIMIM which is nothing but illegal, and the nomination of both the candidates must be rejected on this ground alone, he said.

Further, the election symbol Kite given to AIMIM candidates must be withdrawn for playing fraud with the Election Commission by sponsoring two official nominees from the same constituency, Rao said.
