Both Congress,TRS confident of victory in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: Polling for MLC elections concluded peacefully in Nalgonda on Friday. Only local bodies' members were to cast their votes.

As per the official information, out of total 1,086 votes, 1072 were cast at respective allotted polling centers arranged at seven revenue divisions across erstwhile Nalgonda district.Only 14 voters did not cast their votes for different reasons.In total, the poll percentage in MLC election was recorded 98.5 %.

In Nalgonda district, 197 voters out of 198 under Nalgonda revenue division cast their votes in a polling centers located in Nalgonda town. Whereas in Devarakonda division , all 137 voters utilized their votes in a polling center located at Devarakonda town. In Miryalguda Division, 146 voters out of 148 participated enthusiastically in the election and cast their votes at the polling center arranged at Miryalguda town

In Suryapet district, in Kodad division, 150 out of 151 voters including TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy cast their votes in a polling center established in Kodad town, where as in Suryapet division, all 204 voters including Minister for Education G Jagadish Reddy cast their votes at the polling center arranged at Suryapet town.

In Yadadri- Bhongir district, out of 165 voters, 162 cast their votes in Bhongir division, where as 76 out of 83 voters utilized their franchise in Choutuppal Revenue division.

Speaking to media, Minister Jagadish Reddy, TRS's MLC candidate stated that they have enough number of votes to win the local body MLC election with good majority. Congress leaders' dream of winning Nalgonda seat will not realise this time, he added.

Meanwhile ,Congress leaders TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komati Reddy brothers, party candidate Komatireddy Laxmi exuded confidence that Congress will retain Nalgonda local body MLC seat with minimum majority of 100 votes. Congress will continue its winning spree in Nalgonda district with victory of Laxmi, they added.

Police department took care of security arrangements at polling centers across the erstwhile Nalgonda district and under tight security ballot boxes were shifted to strong rooms located at the State warehouse corporation godowns located in Nalgonda.

Counting of votes will be done in Nalgonda on June 3, Returning officer Gaurav Uppal informed.
