Burgupally villagers demand closure of poultry farms
State that the stink emanating from these poultry farms is unbearable and urge the officials to order for their closure
Mahbubnagar: The villagers of Burgupally in Jadcherla mandal of Mahbubnagar district staged a protest in front of Jadcherla Tahsildar's office on Monday demanding the authorities to take action to remove the stinking poultry farms from the residential areas near their village.
While submitting a representation to Srinivasulu, Jadcherla Tahsildar, the villagers led by various student unions and local leaders from the village urged the officials to take immediate steps to close down all the poultry units in and around Burgupally and save them from the stink and diseases.
"There are more than 10-12 poultry farms in and around Burgupally village. We have been facing the stink and the entire region in our village has become malodorous. Because of this, many in the village are facing some or the other health problem. Therefore, we have urged the Tahsildar to immediately close down the poultry farm and save the people from the stink and unhygienic conditions in the village, "observed the protesting villagers.
