Abdullapurmet: Lack of bus shelters in the outskirts of the city is becoming a major problem for commuters travelling from Hayat Nagar to Kothagudem.

The passengers are forced stand in the scorching sun until the bus they need to board arrives.

The kind of uneasiness the aged and children had to face waiting for hours at the shelter-less bus stops is beyond imagination.

In many places, bus stops have simply disappeared and now there is no designated spot for the bus drivers to stop the bus.

Most of the commuters waiting at these bus stops come from offices and residential colonies located around it.

People are forced to brave odd weather conditions as they are completely dependent on buses.

This is only mid-March and the temperatures would raise high in April and May.

Commuters say we have no clue why officials of GHMC and RTC are least bothered about our safety.

There are about 10 engineering colleges around Abdullapurmet. Thousands of students use RTC buses.

They urge officials to setup bus stops as early as possible.

There is immediate requirement for bus stops at Kothagudem cross roads, Deshmukh Circle, Abdullapurmet Polytechnic College, JNNRUM Colony Road, Pedda Amberpet and Hayat Nagar.
