Congress cries foul over by-election result

"The way the by-poll ended without a contest reflects the kind of political manoeuvring by the ruling party," Rao said, accusing the TRS leadership of influencing or threatening all the 14 candidates in the fray for the 19th Division by-poll.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Rao said that Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender, who hitherto represented the 19th Division, feared of people's backlash and chose to influence the opposition candidates to withdraw from the contest.
The by-poll would have reflected the people's mood, he added. He dared the MLA to show the development taken place in the city during his stint as Mayor. It is shame on part of TRS leaders to celebrate Diddi Nagaraju's victory as it had achieved only by bulldozing the democracy, Rao said.
