Congress to select candidates for ZP, MPP chairmen on June 2
The Pradesh Congress Committee will select the candidates for the election of Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad chairmen and vice chairmen posts on June 2.
Hyderabad: The Pradesh Congress Committee will select the candidates for the election of Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad chairmen and vice chairmen posts on June 2.
On Thursday, PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy held a meeting of senior leaders and district Congress committee presidents and discussed the election of chairpersons of MPP and ZP.
The meeting was conducted in view of announcement of results of the Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies on June 4, and election of ZP and MPP chairpersons on June 7 and 8.
During the meeting, observers for the MPP and ZP chairperson elections have also been selected. The PCC president, working presidents and MLAs have been given the responsibility of various districts.
He said party whips should be selected and they should be trained about their responsibilities. He said that all should see that no ZPTC and MPTC are lost to the ruling party.
The meeting also adopted a resolution seeking AICC president Rahul Gandhi to take back his offer to resign to the post.
