Khammam: High alert was sounded in temple town Bhadrachalam and its surrounding areas after a corona positive person visited many places in the town and surrounding areas.

A person tested positive for coronavirus of Kunavaram mandal headquarters in Andhra Pradesh reportedly visited some places in the town and had tea with his friends at a busy tea stall at supermarket centre in the town. He also visited Burgampahad mandal headquarters and interacted with his relative, who has a jewellery shop in Burgampahad. Later, the duo went to Palvoncha town and visited many jewellery shops.

Immediately after knowing this, the district officials got alerted and started collecting the list of primary contacts of the corona positive person and sprayed bleaching powder in the entire area. Also, the officials closed all areas within a radius and shops in Burgampahad mandal

headquarters. The tea stall, where the positive person reportedly drank the tea, was also closed and its surrounding areas in the temple town.

After the news of corona positive person visiting the temple town spread, locals and devotees became panic and not coming out since Saturday. The temple town looked like a desert on Sunday.

A senior citizen, TV Rao, said till date there were no corona cases in Bhadrachalam and locals are happy. But now a corona positive person visiting the town and surrounding areas created terror among the locals as to who got the virus.

in Palvoncha was tested positive and he was shifted to

Gandhi Hospital. All his primary contacts were under home

quarantine.

Meanwhile, journalists, police and local Congress leaders, who followed Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao, were under huge pressure after Hanumanth Rao was tested positive. Hanumanth Rao came to Kothagudem recently to visit Sitarama Lift Irrigation project to participate in Jala Deeksha. He was arrested in Lakshmidevipalli and at that time, a few scribes, police officials and Congress leaders moved closely with him and now worried about getting infected with coronavirus. Some of them went under home quarantine.

One more positive tested case was reported in Tallada mandal. With the increasing cases in

both Khammam and Kothagudem districts, people are in a state of panic.
