An elderly couple was brutally killed by their car driver who later dumped their bodies in a nearby forest. The incident occurred on June 12 but came to light on Sunday with the arrest of the accused.

According to the police, the couple Navratan Reddy (76) and Snehalatha Reddy (72) left for Karnataka on June 12 and did not reach their destination following which the family members lodged a complaint with the Karnataka police as they hail from Humnabad.

It is learned that the car driver Satish halted the vehicle near Anantagiri and killed them. The accused then dumped their bodies in Anantagiri forest with the help of his friend Rahul and set it ablaze by pouring kerosene. Satish then took away the couple money and gold ornaments and fled the scene.

The Karnataka police recovered the bodies and arrested Satish. However, on questioning the accused, he confessed to committing the crime to repay his loan of Rs 30,000.
