Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday said that the political parties which are provoking the workers were responsible for suicides and deaths and not the government.
Addressing a press conference here at TRSLP office, Dayakar Rao alleged that the opposition parties were provoking the workers and the employees have fallen in the trap of the Union leaders.
When the Minister was reminded about suicides during Telangana agitation, he said that it was an agitation and RTC strike was not.
The Minister said there was no question of privatisation of RTC and added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wants to bring corporation into profit.
Like all other Ministers, Dayakar Rao also said that the TRS never promised to merge the RTC with government.
The Minister lashed out against the BJP leaders and alleged that they were politicising the RTC issue. "The BJP leaders should stop their dramas.
They will not merge the RTC in States where their party is ruling but want other State government to do it," Dayakar Rao said. He demanded that the BJP leaders get an announcement from the Centre that the States ruled by their party will merge RTCs in their State with the government.
He said almost all the State RTCs are demanding merger with government. Both the Congress and BJP were trying to destroy the RTC by supporting the strike.
The Minister also said that the TRS government gave Rs 3,303 crore to the Corporation during the last six years whereas the undivided AP government allocated Rs 1,600 crore.
