Furniture worth Rs 1 cr gutted in major blaze

Warangal: Fire broke out in an old furniture godown near the under bridge of the Battala Bazar here in the wee hours of Friday. Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap.

The firefighters swung into action after the locals alerted them. The fire spread to other shops before the firefighters brought the fire under control. Majority of the shops gutted in the fire were furniture outlets which sell window frames, door frames and other house furniture etc.

Fire officials suspected that the mishap was due to short-circuit in the godown, it's learnt. Although the officials are yet to ascertain the loss, it's suspected that furniture worth around Rs 1 crore was gutted in the fire.
